Upratelock

What will your new State Pension actually be worth — and is it worth buying NI years or deferring? Upratelock projects the full £241.30/week (2026/27) under five uprating rules side by side, applies your real qualifying-year entitlement, prices Class 3 gap-fill and deferral to a payback date, and gives you the ordered steps to finish the decision.

What it does that a forecast page or a chatbot doesn't

  1. Five uprating rules, year by year. Triple lock, earnings-only, CPI-only, a flat 2.5% and an adjusted lock (CPI/2.5% floor with catch-up to an earnings track from 2030/31) — compounded from £241.30 to the year you claim and across your whole drawing horizon, in cash and today's money.
  2. Your real entitlement. Zero under 10 qualifying years, pro-rata to 35 — and spots when the years you'll still work make buying unnecessary, or when a purchase overshoots 35.
  3. Class 3 priced to a payback date. Years × 52 × £18.40 against the extra pension under the triple lock and CPI-only.
  4. Deferral that's honest. +1% per 9 weeks, but the extra only rises with CPI — so we find the true break-even year against a triple-locked base.
  5. Shock test. Re-runs everything with an 8% CPI year to show how the triple-lock ratchet compares with an earnings-tracking rule.
  6. Ordered next steps + a shareable report (HTML, Markdown, JSON) for you, a partner or your adviser.
